Scientists are working on a shot that could protect against Covid-19, its variants, certain seasonal colds — and the next coronavirus pandemic.
“We are interested to develop maybe a third-generation vaccine, which would be on the shelf and ready for the future outbreak,” Dr. Hoft of St. Louis University said.
The search for a pancoronavirus vaccine may take years. But even so, it could help prepare the world for the next coronavirus that jumps the species barrier.
